About Us

The United Methodist Church of Kalamo was founded in 1868.   One of the values of the church was to care for people.   Today our values have not changed.  Our Mission has not changed.  Maybe our methods have.  Learn more as you read about us.

The basic beliefs of the United Methodist Church include:

    • Triune God. God is one God in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
    • The Bible. The Bible is the inspired word of God.
    • Sin.  Sin estranges people from God and corrupts human nature such that we cannot heal or save ourselves.
    • Salvation is available to humanity through a faith relationship in Jesus Christ.

To know Jesus and to make Him known in our neighborhood.

At Kalamo Church we are uniquely called to fulfill God’s mission for our church by:

  • Building relationships
  • Caring for our neighbors
  • Sharing our stories and love for Jesus.

Meet the Staff & Volunteers

Dale Wayne Williams

I was born in Texas to a military family and raised in rural Northern Michigan. Following high school graduation, I moved to Grand Rapids to begin my studies at GVSU. After graduating from there, I moved to the Lansing Area and have found it to be home since.

My full time job is foster care case management with the State of Michigan and I have additional part time work doing database management for homelessness service providers in Greater Lansing.

In my free time, I am heavily involved in the arts. I am frequently in musical theatre productions or visiting live music venues. If I’m not out and about, I’m at home with my golden retriever, cats, guinea pig, and leopard gecko.

I started in ministry in 2020 and it’s been a fun and exciting journey so far.
